Set in the romantic rolling green parks of Eriboll Estates’ in-bye farm land, Posties Bothy is a traditional workers cottage dating back to the 1800s. It started life however as its name suggests as the local Post Office and until recently the Royal Mail Post Bus would, if asked convey you from Lairg to Posties on its daily 110 mile post run.
Recently refurbished it sleeps 4 in its two bedrooms which have stunning views of the spectacular hills and the grazing North Country Cheviot flock for which Eriboll is famed. It is a mere 5 minute stroll to our rocky shore or 30 minutes by car to the spectacular sandy beaches and dunes at Cannaebean and Balnakiel in Durness or Melness near Tongue .
Fishing in the hill lochs, salmon fishing (booking necessary) and deer stalking are all on offer with this cottage – please contact us for prices and availability. Appreciation of the nature of the area comes free as does local knowledge.
Wifi and Freeview are provided but phones are limited to mobiles operating on the O2 network as with most of the Estate.
The nature and age of this cottage does not allow easy access for wheelchairs. We operate a no smoking policy in all our cottages. Pets are allowed but they must be kept well under supervision as this is a working estate.
